The Brownies want to use the award towards transport to a Brownie Centenary Event - The Big Brownie Birthday - at Butlins, Skegness. This is one of many centenary events being held around the country from January through to August 2014.
The Galleywood Heritage Centre prevailed in the September vote, receiving 302 of the 788 votes cast; 40% of the total. Galleywood will spend the award on a new wall mounted projector screen for the Centre's main hall. The new screen will benefit all that attend the Centre for its regular talks, presentations and displays.

Chelmer is a Chelmsford based community cycling club that caters for cyclists of all ages and abilities. It runs a range of activities for beginners, families to the more experienced riders going on training rides and taking part in race events.
In January 2013 the Chelmsford Ballet Company received £1000 from Chelmsford Grand Awards. By March, when they presented Coppelia to the residents of Chelmsford, the company had used the money to restore and repair the spectacular scenery that was used throughout the production. Part of the award was also used to purchase tutu net which allowed the company to replace ageing costumes.
The Marconi Ponds Activity Trail, partly funded by a Grand Award, was officially opened on the 18th of May. The opening took place at the annual Marconi Ponds Open Day; a fun packed event that welcomed almost 200 visitors to the nature reserve.
