Chelmsford Bipolar Self Help Group

Chelmsford Bipolar Self Help Group

Chelmsford Bipolar Self Help Group

Who are we?

A unique group facilitated by trained volunteers who themselves are affected by bipolar and its associated illnesses.  The group provides an ongoing emotional support service through peer guidance, improving the situation of individuals, their carers and families.

What would we use the award for?

The Chelmsford group would like to use the award to fund an awareness campaign to encourage those affected by the condition to seek vital help and support.  The campaign will include leaflets and posters in doctors surgeries, hospitals, libaries and other service provider locations.  They will also use advertising in the local press.

Who will benefit from the project?

Over 7,800 people in Chelmsford are directly affected by bipolar and its associated illnesses.  The condition is characterised by significant mood swings including manic highs and depressive lows.
