About Grand Awards
Chelmsford Grand Awards is a new awards scheme for local voluntary and community groups active in the borough of Chelmsford. It was created to recognise and support the many small groups doing big things in the community.
£1000 will be awarded each month to the group which receives the highest number of votes.

Shortlisted groups will be publicised on our website promoting both the group and its activities.
It's a unique opportunity to receive £1000 for your group with no match funding required!

How does the scheme work?
1. Apply with a simple application form online - click on 'Apply' at the top of the screen.
2. Each month three projects are short listed by our panel and shown on the website.
3. The public votes for their favourite project each month.
4. The project and group that gets the most votes wins £1000 - it's as simple as that!
The Awards are for groups relating to any of the following themes:
Arts and Culture - Any local clubs and societies that enrich community life, such as music, drama, photography etc.
Children and Young People - Any activities relating to the under 18s, such as youth clubs, Brownies, Scouts, parent -and-baby groups, play groups, mentoring etc.
Older People - Any activities relating to the over 55s, such as physical activities or activities which bring isolated people into the community.
Environment and Nature - Such as conservation groups, local environmental protection, water/waterways, woodland etc.
Health and Care - Such as hospices, hospital friends or care for people with life limiting illness such as Alzheimer’s, cancer etc.
Sports and Activities - Any activities encouraging or enabling sports, outdoor activities and healthy lifestyles.
Support Groups - Such as organisations addressing issues like homelessness, domestic violence; providing advice, shelters or care centres; working with disabled or disadvantaged residents.
